Sumi Ink Club

Sumi Ink Club es un proyecto artístico creado en Los Angeles por Sarah Rara y Luke Fischbeck quienes han llevado el evento a varias partes del mundo. Todo consiste en reunir personas de todo tipo de estilos y edades para realizar un dibujo colaborativo.

La dinámica empezó en las instalaciones Cultura Colectiva (CC186) al tomar  un pincel y un poco de pintura, si  no fuiste puntual tal vez hayas tenido suerte en encontrar un buen espacio en blanco y si no se te ocurría nada qué pintar  siempre estaba la opción de completar los otros dibujos para integrar todos los diseños. 

Fue muy agradable convivir con personas desconocidas y con ideas tan diferentes para al final lograr una composición tan completa. 

Sumi Ink Club is an art project created in Los Angeles by Sarah Rara and Luke Fischbeck which involves bringing together people of all styles and ages for a collaborative drawing.

The dynamic began at Cultura Colectiva (CC186) when you took a brush and some paint, if you weren´t on time you may have been lucky to find a good blank space and if you can not think of  anything to draw there was always the option of completing the other drawings to integrate all the designs .

It was very pleasant to live with strangers and with very different ideas for the end achieve as complete a composition.

Mi Outfit: Una de mis tendencias favoritas para ésta temporada es la Imperial, especialmente por el uso de terciopelo y bisutería maxi, en esta occación decidí combinarla con animal print. 

My Outfit: one of my favorite trends for this season is the Imperial, specially for the use of Velvet and maxi jewelry, this time I decided to match it with a sweater in animal print.

El pasado viernes estuvimos en Vintage Hoe, una boutique de prendas vintage,  ubicada en la calle de Mérida de la Colonia Roma. Durante nuestra visita platicamos con Patricia Ralero y Joel Hoe, amantes del vintage y actuales dueños de la tienda, para conocer más sobre la historia de esta acogedora boutique.

Vintage Hoe surgió por la pasión de Joel hacia la ropa fina y de otra época.

Durante sus estudios en Estada Unidos, Joel frecuentaba las ventas para indigentes en donde llegó a encontrar prendas de marcas muy selectas que al principio compraba para consumo propio, pero después, observando  la popularidad de este estilo entre sus amigos, comenzó a coleccionar las prendas y a venderlas de manera exitosa, dirigiendo sus ganancias al pago de rentas y comidas.

Fue cuando conoció a Susan Jugens, dueña de una tienda vintage en la que se almacenaban prendas antiguas de las  mejores marcas, donde Joel desarrolló más su afición por lo vintage y se educó cada vez más sobre el tema.

Apoyándose en la sabia experiencia, Joel trasladó su proyecto a México con un perfil muy bien estructurado y totalmente innovador para el país, Vintage Hoe. Desde hace tres años colabora con Patricia, quien se inició en el tema de la moda y el vintage trabajando en vestuario de cine.  Juntos trabajan gustosamente para la boutique con el objetivo de ofrecernos ropa vintage pero siempre ligada a las tendencias mas actuales

Por ahora el mayor reto para Vintage Hoe es el surgimiento de tiendas inditex  que, aunque traducen a la perfección lo nuevo en el mundo de la moda, no muestran el sentido de individualidad que Vintage Hoe nos ofrece por medio de prendas muy especiales, únicas y a excelentes precios lo que nos evita correr el riesgo de que alguien mas lo vista.

Lo mejor de la moda es que puede expresar desde nuestro humor hasta nuestra personalidad, por lo que tener prendas originales y exclusivas se ha convertido en el objetivo principal de muchos fashionistas. Vintage Hoe nos entrega esta importante cualidad, lo cual la convierte en una empresa que seguiremos frecuentando y recomendando siempre.

Queremos hacer un especial agradecimiento a Joel y Patricia de Vintage Hoe por la oportunidad y el interés, además de la cálida bienvenida que nos dieron. Gracias <3

Last Friday went to Vintage Hoe, a vintage clothing boutique, located in Merida street at the colonia Roma.During our visit we talked with Patricia and Joel, vintage lovers and current owners of the store, in order to learn more about the history of this cozy boutique.

Vintage Hoe emerged  with Joel's passion for fine clothing and from another era.

During his studies at the United States, Joel frequented homeless in sales where he found very fine clothing brands she bought for personal use, for among his friends was very popular vintage. Thinking about the popularity of this style began to collect the clothes and sell successfully, directing its profits to pay rent for an apartment.

More over, he met  Susan Jugen, owner of a vintage shop in which she stored incredible garments of past époques and with the best brands in the world. Joel came to work for the store and his penchant for vintage  was increasingly educated.

Eventually Joel transfer his project to Mexico with a very well structured vision and a completely new concept  to the country.

Since three years back, Joel collaborates with Patricia, who started on the subject of fashion and vintage while working at  film costume,  together they´ve worked for the boutique with the purpose of offer vintage clothing but always linked to current trends.

By far the biggest challenge for Vintage Hoe is the emergence of Inditex stores, which, although perfectly translate the latest news in fashion does not show the sense of individuality that Vintage Hoe provides  with reasonable costs fashion of very special and unique clothes, which guarantees that nobody else will wear it.

The best thing about fashion is that you can express your mood and even your personality, so being original and wearing exclusive garments has become a matter of importance for many fashionistas. Vintage Hoe gives us this important characteristic, which makes it a company that we´ll continue frequenting and we´ll  always recommend.

Este sábado fue el Festival Marvin 2012 que se conformó de más de 50 bandas en 8 foros alrededor de la Condesa y la Roma.

La mayoría de las bandas eran latinoamericanas a excepción de Crocodiles, Atlas Sound y The Boxer Rebellion.

Como todo festival fue necesario organizar el tiempo para ver cuáles fueron las bandas que queríamos ir a ver ya que muchas tocaban al mismo tiempo en los diferentes foros, al final nos perdimos de unas cuantas pero era imposible poder llegar tan rápido, además de que también teníamos que tomar un descanso para comer.

Al ser en un día caluroso y en uno de los spots más fashion de la cuidad de México, mucha gente lució sus mejores looks de verano, los shorts, las faldas, los lentes de sol y los sombreros hicieron que te transportaras a California con este ambiente playero.

Respecto a los artistas todos usaron colores brillantes y claro está que los estampados, en especial de flores fueron la sensación!

This Saturday the Marvin Festival 2012 took place, it was formed by more than 50 bands in 8 forums around the beautiful colonies Condesa and Roma, here in México City.

Most of the bands were from Latin American except Crocodiles, Atlas Sound and The BoxerRebellion.

Like any festival, it was necessary to organize the time to check which were the bands we wanted to see as many played simultaneously in different forums, at the end we missed a few but it was impossible to get to the places that fast, plus we had to take a lunch break :P

Since it was a hot day and in one of the most fashion spots in the city, many people wore their best summer looks with shorts, skirts, sunglasses and hats that made transported us to California with the beach environment.

About all the artists, they used bright colors and it is clear that  patterns, specially flowers were so in!
