Palacio de Bellas Artes

Hace unos días visité el gran Palacio de Bellas Artes, uno de los mas importantes recintos culturales en México. La construcción del palacio comenzó 1904 y surgió como una idea para conmemorar el centenario de la independencia de México, tras pasar por manos de varios arquitectos y varias suspensiones  el edificio fue oficialmente inaugurado en 1931.

En un principio Bellas Artes fue considerado como el teatro nacional y unicamente presentaba espectáculos teatrales, además servía como escenario para producciones cinematográficas mexicana, actualmente, el palacio presenta no solo teatro si no también exposiciones de pintura, escultura, arquitectura, famosas operas, conciertos musicales y destacables producciones de ballet.

Some days ago I visited the grate Palacio de Bellas Artes, one of the most important cultural venues in Mexico. The construction of the palace began in 1904 and resulted as an idea to commemorate 100 years of Mexican independence, after the construction passed around several architects and suspensions, the building was finally opened in 1931. 

At the beginning the palace was considered the national theater where only theater plays were presented, later the palace opened its gates to be part of different sceneries for mexican movies. 

Dentro del palacio de Bellas Artes me encontré con una pequeña exposición "Palacio de bellas artes en el cine... imagenes y sensaciones" donde, con folletos y publicidad antigua, nos cuentan un poco mas sobre las presentaciones mas importantes que ha albergado éste bello monumento.

Currently, Bellas Artes presents not only plays but also painting, sculpture, architecture, opera, music and ballet exhibitions. 

During my visit I came across with a mini exhibition that shows, trough old brochures, photos and advertisings,  a little bit more about the most important presentations that the palace hosted in the past.

Para mi look decidí usar la tendencia blanco y negro ya que es una de mis favoritas, es un estilo informal pero creo que la combinación refleja la elegancia del Palacio de Bellas Artes. 

For this look I decided to use the black and white trend because it is one of my favorites this season, it is a casual style but I think that with the black and white I was able to reflect the elegance of the palace.

El Pasado jueves asistí a la conferencia de prensa de Mercedes Benz Fashion Week México "New Rules" donde se comentaron las innovaciones que formaran parte de la edición otoño- invierno 2013, así como  los diseñadores que participarán y las fechas en las que se llevará acabo.
MBFW México se presentará del 15 al 18 de abril nuevamente en la Carpa Santa Fe, ésta nueva edición estará enfocada a potencializar el negocio de los diseñadores a través de diferentes acciones.
Como ya hemos visto en varias semanas de la moda alrededor del mundo, la transmisión de los desfiles vía online también estará presente en la MBFWMX. Otra novedad será la introducción de "The Box" un formato de presentación donde los invitados podremos interactuar con los diseñadores para conocer mas sobre sus colecciones y proyectos.

Last thursday I was invited to MBFW MX "New Rules" press conference which revealed the innovations, dates and designers that will be part of the autumn winter 2013 edition. 
MBFW México will be presented from april 15 to april 18 at Carpa Santa Fe, this new edition will be focus on maximize the designers business through different actions.
As we´ve seed in almos all fashion weeks around the world, online live transmission will also be part in MBFW MX. Another novelty will be the presentation of "The Box" a space where guests will be able to relate with the designers to know more about their collections and projects.

Tranvía nocturno Coyoacán

El día de mañana en México se celebrará el día de Muertos, ésta celebración durará dos días y Coyoacán es uno de los lugares mas tradicionales para celebrarlo por lo que me pareció interesante pasear por la zona. 

Ésta vez visité el tranvía de Coyoacán, un camioncito rojo y amarillo que recorre los lugares mas significativos de la zona contando su historia. Algunos de los puntos que menciona son la casa Azul de Frida y Diego Rivera, la casa de León Trotsky, el centro de Coyoacán entre otro. 

Sin embargo por la noches en el tranvía cuentan leyendas y cuentos cortos de terror mientras circula por las oscuras calles. Tomé el recorrido nocturno y la primera historia que escuché en el tren fue el terrorífico cuento de El Gato Negro de Edgar Allan Poe, después continuaron con leyendas propias de la colonia.  En el pasado Coyoacán fue considerado un pueblo por lo que está lleno de leyendas que hicieron la noche muy interesante abordo del tren. 

Los recorridos de leyendas inician a partir de las siete de la noche y pueden abordar el tranvía sobre la calle Carrillo Puerto.

Tomorrow in Mexico we will celebrate Día de Muertos (the death´s day)  wich runs for two days and Coyoacán is one of the most traditional places to celebrate it so it was interesting walking around the area.

This time I visited the Coyoacán´s tram, a tramcar that runs through the most significant sites of the area telling its stories. Some of the spots in the path are the Blue House of Frida and Diego Rivera, Leon Trotsky's house, Coyoacán´s heart among another.

However, at night, the streetcar tells legends and horror stories as it flows through the dark streets. I took the night tour and the first story I heard on the train was the terrifying story  The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe, then it continued with legends about the area. In the past Coyoacán was considered a small village so it is full of legends that made a very interesting night onboard the train.

The legends tours start at seven in the evening and you can take the tram at  Carrillo Puerto street.

Vans Classic & Mexico City Party

Cadáver exquisito es el nombre de esta pieza formada por 30 patinetas intervenidas por 30 artistas visuales. 

La colaboración de artistas fue propuesta por No sombrero, organización que se encarga de difundir y apoyar el diseño y arte mexicano por medio de exposiciones colectivas. 

Exquisite Corpse is the name of this piece that consists of 30 skateboards intervened by 30 visual artists.

The collaboration of artists was proposed by No hat (No sombrero), an organization that spreads and support the Mexican design and art through collective exhibitions.

Después de visitar Vintage Hoe el pasado viernes, fuimos invitadas a Vans Classic & Mexico City Party, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de ver y escuchar a dos bandas Españolas con un sonido único.

La organización del evento corrió a manos de Vans México y Vans Girls Mexico.

El primer invitado musical en  presentarse fue Pegasvs, un dúo conformado por Luiciana Della Villa y Sergio Pérez. Haciendo su debut en México la banda de  tecno-pop analógico logro hacernos cantar con el órgano retro, la voz femenina y mucho sintetizador. 

A continuación se presentó la agrupación de Indie pop formada por Ariadna, Jorge, Chema, Gonzalo y Manu: Los Punsetes. Como de costumbre Ariadna permaneció inmóvil proporcionando la voz mientras que sus compañeros se ocupaban de los instrumentos.  

Kiss My Vans ofreció un taller de decoración que desafortunadamente para nosotras, era exclusivo para chicas que usaban Vans. ):

Al día siguiente del evento, decidimos inspirarnos en el ambiente de la fiesta Vans por lo que incluimos prendas de ésta marca en los outfits que les presentamos en el Post.

After visiting Vintage Hoe last Friday, we were invited to Vans Classic & Mexico City Party, where we had the opportunity to watch and hear two Spanish bands with a unique sound.

The event was organized by Vans Mexico and Vans Girls.

The first musical guest to appear was Pegasvs, a duo formed by Luiciana Della Villa and Sergio Perez. Making their debut in Mexico, the analog techno-pop band made us sing along with the retro organ, the female voice and a lot of synthesizer.

Moreover, the Indie pop group formed by Ariadne, Jorge, Chema, Gonzalo and Manu came over : The Punsetes. As usual Ariadna stood motionless providing the voice while his teammates took care of the instruments.

Kiss My Vans offered a decoration workshop which unfortunately for us, was exclusively for girls wearing Vans. ):

The day after the event, we decided to take as inspiration the Vans party mood and we included clothes of this brand in the outfits that we presented in the Post.
